  •  The Grocery Manufacturers Association is pleased to offer a comprehensive battery of thermal processing workshops February 15-26 at GMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.. Three stand-alone workshops and an introductory module that builds upon the information learned in Better Process Control School comprise GMA's Thermal Processing Professional Training (TPPT) Program. For individuals who do not wish to attend the entire two week program, registration for individual workshops is encouraged.

    As part of our annual short course series, we are currently offering 4 short courses. A brief description of the short courses is given below. Among these short courses, we will have speakers from industry (Frito Lay, Microthermics), academia (NC State, Ohio State, Kansas State, Louisiana State), and legal/government agencies (FDA, Keller & Heckman LLP). There will also be opportunities for the short course attendees to see the results of the research work conducted through the Center for Advanced
    Processing and Packaging Studies. An optional tour of the pilot plant facilities of the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences at North Carolina State University and Microthermics Inc. is offered as a part of some of these short courses.
